Una combinazione - doppia minaccia
Questa posizione si è verificata alla scacchiera nel famoso torneo dei candidati della Martesana.

Come entrare in un finale... patto!
Al quarto turno del CIS (Campionato Italiano a
Squadre), dopo un grave errore nel mediogico, ho dovuto fronteggiare
una posizione leggermente inferiore e piena di insidie. Con una
ventina di minuti sull'orologio alla mossa 26, ho visto la
possibilità di entrare in un finale forzatamente pari.
Muove il Bianco.
Dopo il cambio delle Donne si raggiunge la seguente posizione

E' chiaro che se si gioca il cambio delle Donne bisogna già avere in mente
come condurre il finale. A questo punto, la prima mossa candidata è
Cxe7+.

g3! Come insegna Lasker, se nella posizione non c'è un elemento geometrico
potrebbe esserci un motivo di immobilità. Dove può andare il
fastidioso Cavallo nero?
Alla prossima arriva ... Ta2 e il pedone b2 cade. Tuttavia...

Ecco il motivo geometrico! Segue Cc4 Txb3 con gioco pari.
Dopo quasi 5 ore di battaglia il mio avversario è caduto in una svista che mi ha consegnato la vittoria.
